Energy savings in our offices

An average of eight hours a day we spend in our offices or in our homes in virtual work, during the working week the hours may rise to forty. For much of our day, we can do a lot for the environment. We are all in a position to contribute to energy savings in our environment; But let's start with some simple and effective tips that we can follow in the offices.

1. Try not to turn on the lights, if it is not necessary. Turn on the lights by zones and if you have windows nearby, make the most of natural light., If necessary, change the orientation of your stall to benefit from it.
 

2. Turn off the lights you don't need, even if they are minimal periods. Remind cleaners and colleagues who leave the offices later to turn off the lights at the end of their day.
 

3. Avoid leaving doors or windows open. By having temperature changes between one room and another, the ventilation system is in a struggle to stabilize the temperature of the spaces, causing greater electricity consumption.
 

4. Installation of air conditioning thermostats at recommended temperatures. The temperature of the ventilation system should be pleasant. Very low or high temperatures demand a lot of electrical power.
 

5. Gestiona proper power consumption of the equipment:

      • Adjust the brightness of your computer screen to a medium level to your comfort.
      • Wake the computer in "power saving" when not in use for about 10 minutes and turn it off after more than 1 hour.
         

6. Unplug the equipment when it is not in use. At the end of the day, weekends, days off, holidays.
 

7. Use calculators and solar chargers. Use clean and renewable energy whenever you can.
 

8. If it's within reach, go up and down the stairs. Save electricity and contribute to your good health.
